HOW DO I FIND BOOKS ON POLITICAL SCIENCE?
Political science books are mainly located in the J-K call number areas in the library, though some will be located in other call number areas, depending on the subject. J-K books are located in the main stacks, in the reading room. And, of course, all library books are searchable in the online catalog.

JA: general political science

JF-JQ: political institutions & public adminstration
JS: local government
JV: colonies, colonial government, emigration & immigration
JX-JZ: international law & interational relations

K: general law
KB: religious law
KD-KW: law by country and region
KZ: law of nations

    Provides full-text digitized back files of core scholarly journals in the academic field of history, education, sociology, philosophy, and literature, beginning with the first issue up to a 'moving wall' of 2 to 5 years. 
  • Humanities International Complete
    Humanities International Complete is a comprehensive database covering journals, books and other important reference sources in the humanities. It provides cover-to-cover indexing and abstracting for over 2,000 titles and contains more than 2 million records. Humanities International Complete provides citations, abstracts and some full-text for articles, essays and reviews, as well as original creative works including poems, fiction, photographs, paintings and illustrations.
  • LexisNexis Academic: Legal
    Within the "Legal" part, LexisNexis provides newspapers, law reviews, government documents, case law, and journal articles in the political and legal area.
  • LexisNexis Academic
    Indexes newspaper articles, wire service reports and transcripts of TV and radio broadcasts; with full text in English and other languages.
  • Academic Search Premier
    ASP provides full text of more than 4700 academic, social sciences, humanities, general science, health science, education, and multi-cultural journals.  In addition, this database offers indexing and abstracts for 8200 journals.  Full-Text and indexing go as far back as 1975.
  • GPO Access - The Government  Printing Office
    The online listing of government databases, full-text access to current public papers of the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of the U.S. Government.
  • Thomas
    A database of legislative information of the US Congress, provided by the Library of Congress. It provides info on the latest activities from the floor, bill summary and status, House and Senate roll call votes, public laws by law number, major legislation by topic, bill number/type, popular or short title, and the complete Congressional Record.
  • ECO Index
    OCLC's Electronic Collections Online indexes journals, books, book reviews and dissertations in a wide variety of areas including politics, criminal justice, history, english, business, and science. Password required- in library use only- please see Reference Librarian for the password.
  • Ethnic News watch
    Indexes US ethnic and minority publications; with full text.
  • Newspaper Source
    Indexes regional, national and international newspapers.
  • Newspapers(ProQuest)
    Includes national and leading regional papers such as The New York Times, USA TODAY, The Wall Street Journal, The Atlanta Journal / Constitution, Baron's, The Boston Globe, The Guardian, Christian Science Monitor, and The Washington Post.  Abstracting and indexing are available for more than 350 papers.
  • Newspaper Archive
    Includes early excerpts of the New York Times, Washington Post, and other regional, national and international newspapers.  Note: it is not complete.
  • Ingenta
    Completely interdisciplinary indexing and abstract database of almost 30,000 publications. 
  • DOAJ - Directory of Open Access Journals
    Provides links to journals in History, Religion, Philosophy and the Sciences.  All journals are open access journals meaning their research articles are available for free; however, they are still under copyright by the author and journal publisher.
