ARTICLE DATABASES

  • JSTOR
JSTOR offers researchers the ability to retrieve high-resolution, scanned images of journal issues and pages as they were originally designed, printed, and illustrated. The journals archived in JSTOR span many disciplines. JSTOR is not a current issues database. Because of JSTOR's archival mission, there is a gap, typically from 1 to 5 years, between the most recently published journal issue and the back issues available.
  • Science Direct
Indexes major publications in the life and health sciences.  Includes over 950 full-text journal titles and several reference titles.
  • Academic Search Premier
Academic Search Premier provides full text for more than 1,690 academic, social sciences, humanities, general science, education and multi-cultural journals. In addition to the full text, this database offers indexing and abstracts for 2,794 journals. More than 1,880 journals are peer reviewed. Full text backfiles go as far back as January of 1990, while indexing and abstract backfiles go as far back as January of 1984.
  • ECO Index
OCLC's Electronic Collections Online indexes journals, books, book reviews and dissertations in a wide variety of areas including politics, criminal justice, history, english, business, and science. Password required- in library use only- please see Reference Librarian for the password.
  • DOAJ - Directory of Open Access Journals
Provides links to journals in History, Religion, Philosophy and the Sciences.  All journals are open access journals meaning their research articles are available for free; however, they are still under copyright by the author and journal publisher.
