HOW DO I FIND BOOKS ON PSYCHOLOGY?
Psychology books are located in the BF call number areas in the library. BF books are located on the second floor of the library. And, of course, all library books are searchable in the online catalog.

  • PsycINFO
    PsycINFO (APA) contains citations and summaries of journal articles, book chapters, books, dissertations, and technical reports in the field of psychology and the psychological aspects of related disciplines. Journal coverage, spanning 1897 - present, includes international material selected from more than 1,500 periodicals written in over 35 languages. Current chapter and book coverage includes worldwide English-language material published from 1987-present. Over 60,000 references are added annually through weekly updates.
  • PsycArticles
    Covers general psychology and specialized, basic, applied, clinical and theoretical research in psychology. The database contains more than 25,000 searchable full text articles from 38 journals published by the APA and 4 from allied organizations. It contains all journal articles, letters to the editor and errata from each of the 42 journals. Coverage spans from 1988 to the present.
  • PubMed
    Indexes biomedical journals from MEDLINE and additional life science journals. Also links to molecular biology databases of DNA/protein sequences and 3-D structure data.
  • PubMed Central
    The full-text depository for most open access journals in the medical field and bio-sciences
  • MDConsult
    Indexes major publications reference and journal articles in the medical field; including trials and materials in evidence based medicine.
  • Science Direct
    Indexes major publications in the life and health sciences.  Includes over 950 full-text journal titles and several reference titles.
  • General Science Full-Text
    Indexes journals in the physical and life sciences; with abstracts.
  • Scientific American
    Access includes the complete editorial pages of the magazine and page images.
  • ECO Index
    OCLC's Electronic Collections Online indexes journals, books, book reviews and dissertations in a wide variety of areas including politics, criminal justice, history, english, business, and science. Password required- in library use only- please see Reference Librarian for the password.
  • DOAJ - Directory of Open Access Journals
    Provides links to journals in History, Religion, Philosophy and the Sciences.  All journals are open access journals meaning their research articles are available for free; however, they are still under copyright by the author and journal publisher.
  • Academic Search Premier
    ASP provides full text of more than 4700 academic, social sciences, humanities, general science, health science, education, and multi-cultural journals.  In addition, this database offers indexing and abstracts for 8200 journals.  Full-Text and indexing go as far back as 1975.
